Micro-pigment brands and types

We use a few different brands of micro-pigment at our studio. There are many different skin types and they react differently to each person. We use the combinations that we know work best for your skin type. All ink used is specially made for semi-permanent makeup, not tattoo ink. There are minor, but important differences between the two.

We use micropigment from a few different companies to get the optimal result for each skin type. All the manufacturers that we work with have stringent quality control and meet the USA or EU standards.

We use the following brands:

  • Biotouch – one of the most well known micro-pigment companies.
  • SofTap Permanent Cosmetics – another well-known company.
  • Li Pigments – Li Pigments have been manufacturing for over 25 years.
  • Phibrows – Phibrows is another famous company in the eyebrows industry.

Do you also use an organic ink?

Colors plays a vital role in permanent makeup. Here are two types of pigments that are normally used; organic and inorganic pigments. Whenever we hear organic or natural pigment, we tend to be attracted assuming that it is the best product, but don’t be fooled. Organic pigment is anything that is vegetable based, chemical compounds can be used during color production to stabilized the organic pigments. It is more risky for it’s the natural products in vegetables and herbs that can cause allergic reactions for some people. On the other hand, inorganic pigments use chemical formulations. Iron oxide rarely cause allergic reactions and had shown to be the safest pigment. It is well known for it’s color durability and stability. Exposure to sunlight or chemicals can take away the bright color of organic pigments

How to determine the right lip color?

Choosing the right lip shade

Many women have dealt with finding the right color for their lips. Plus, the hassle of putting a lipstick on. Also, women tend to bite their lips and it causes for the lipstick to fade. Permanent makeup has been a solution for many. However, how will we know what color will fit for you?

Know your skin tone – In a natural lighting, check your skin tone to determine your real complexion.

√ Fair or Light Skin – light pink, coral, peach, nude, and dusty red colors
√ Medium – rose, berry, cherry red, and mauve lipstick
√ Tan – rock coral, deep pink, bright red except for brown and purple shades
√ Deep – brown and purple shades like plum, caramel, wine, and blue-based reds

Check your under skin tone – Those with cool undertones tend to have fairer skin, while those with warm undertones have a golden or olive hue. Neutral undertones have mixtures of warm and cool undertones.

“The perfect shade is the one that makes you feel the best. Even if it breaks all the color rules, you should always wear colors that make you happy,” says Le.

Important things before and during lip enhancement procedure and it’s recovery time

Avoid all platelet inhibitors such as aspirin, alcohol and NSAID’s (and anything that contains those ingredients) for 7-10 days before your procedure. Also eat pineapple during this time period. Make sure that your injector is very experienced in lip augmentation, and ask them to inject very slowly since the faster the injection, the more it hurts and the more chance of bruising. After the injections, do not “use” your lips for anything except eating…..and use ice packs at least 20 minutes per hour until the swelling goes down. Remember to sleep with your head elevated so that there is less chance of swelling in your lips overnight.

Every patient’s recovery time is different after any procedure. Typically, lip swelling after filler will significantly decrease after 2-3 days but for some patients it may last as long as 5-7 days. Any swelling or bruising should be completely gone by two weeks. We recommend that you increase your water in-take before and after injection.

Lip augmentation or lip enhancement can give you a boost in both self-esteem and self-confidence. The end result should be a balance within the face, allowing your eyes, cheeks, nose and lips to become harmonious. Augmenting the lips so they appear fuller and more luscious creates a healthier appearance and sensual appeal.

Is Microblading recommended with dark skin tone?

The previous salon where I inquire decline me to have my brows Microbladed. I was told I can’t have mine done.

Everyone is welcome to have this treatment done. May it be light skin tone or dark depending on their need threshold. Women with darker skin tend to have an oilier skin that causes blurry out hair-like stroke. In other words, pigment implanted in the brows area will not stay longer. Expert enhances the pigment by adding vitamin C as a color brightener in order to hold the pigment to lighten gradually. In this line, technology is improving to meet the needs of the client for precision. Women with dark skin tone must be very careful enough in choosing the perfect place for their Microblading procedure. Not all specialist can perform this treatment on non-caucasian skin. Rarely of contrast between the dark skin tones and pigments that was being used, so the aestheticians may not used on work across the skin tones won’t be able to deliver realistic results.

Microblading is a semi-permanent eyebrow tattooing procedure that is helping folks like me get their entire lives in order.

There is no difference in microblading for dark skin, fair skin or medium skin. In each category there are different skin types, undertones and thickness. The only difference is in the healed results.

Aftercare is extremely important! And you should remember that microblading is a team effort between you and your technician. Make sure you follow all the instructions and use only the product you were provided by your artist. Do not google. There is no one right way in the aftercare and it different depends on the place you choose. You’ll be provided with aftercare kit right after procedure, aftercare will be explained in detail and you’ll have a copy of the instructions to take home.

In permanent make up, skin types can be a factor in choosing which technique best suits each client. Having oily skin is a bit challenging with Microblading because it tends to push-out the ink when applied. For clients who has this type of skin, we recommend the Microshading technique.

Yes! Microblading works on all skin tones and colors. Dark skin will look powdery and you would see less hair details than in light complexion. Both techniques can be applied for this.

Permanent eyeliner benefits and its effects

Permanent makeup is a cosmetic technique which employs tattoos as a means of producing designs that resemble makeup, such as eyelining and other permanent enhancing colors to the skin of the face, lips, and eyelids.

Cosmetic makeup is advantageous not only for those who wish to save time applying it, but also for those with allergies or sensitive skin who may not otherwise be able to wear eyeliner. It may also help those women who have visual impairment who may not able to apply make up daily.

Immediate side effects following permanent eyeliner application include swelling that lasts anywhere from two to 72 hours after application. Also, the eyeliner color typically appears much darker for up to as many as 10 days after the procedure. Upper Eyeliner procedure takes 1 hour and for the regular upper and lower eyeliner procedure will take 1 hour and 30 minutes to complete.

Aftercare instructions for eyeliner:
To achieve the best results of the permanent make up, you must follow the aftercare instructions provided by your artist. For eyeliner, you must avoid the following:

  • No contact lenses on the day of your procedure
  • Sauna or Jacuzzi for at least 3 days
  • Hot showers
  • Eyelash curlers for 2-3 days
  • Any eye makeup for 5 days until flaking is done
  • No soaps, or facial wash on the pigmented area for 2-3 days
  • Chlorine pools for at least a week
  • Terry towels
  • Mascara for 5 days
  • Driving for 8 hours long before and after the procedure
  • Take a shower with no direct contact of the pigmented area. Do not rub your eyes. Fading on the first application is part of the healing period.

Can I do the eyeliner service if I have lash extensions?
Eyelash extension should be remove as it interfere with the service so you will need to get it removed before the procedure. After your procedure, we recommend refraining from applying make up for three days (72 hours). Avoid using an eyelash curler for two weeks. Do not expose your healing skin to direct shower spray, skin creams, ointments, or lotions other than what you have been instructed to use for at least 3 days following your procedure.

Can I do two services in one day?
Yes, a combination of all of our services can be done in the same day.

Permanent makeup can last up to 1 year before needing to be retouched. It all depends on your skin type, how often your skin gets exposed to the sun and how your body reacts to the ink. Typically it goes like this. You get the procedure done and four to six weeks later you come back in for a touch-up. Every six month from that point you would come back for touch-ups to keep the shape and the strokes fresh. Many people do retain the pigment very well and are able to keep the permanent makeup looking good for over a year.

All our artist are well-trained and certified to do the procedure as they are determined to give happiness through permanent makeup.
