What can you expect after the eyebrow microblading treatment?

Microblading Care Instructions

Microblading can be one of the best decisions ever made if done by the right practitioner. Microblading is a semi-permanent tattoo that could change the appearance of your whole face in a positive way if done properly.  So, it is crucial to find a skilled technician who is creative enough to perfect a style, shape and combination of colors to perfect the natural look for each client.

Aside from this, as a client you will also need to check that the technician is following the cosmetic safety protocols to avoid any hazardous incidents.  Everyone reads about horrific stories of plastic surgeries and permanent makeup gone wrong so it is always best to do research before settling with a particular technician.

Microblading procedure is risk free if clients take the time to research the studio they decide to go to. Also it’s always advised for potential clients to follow pre-care and post-care steps to achieve the safest results.

  • Avoid alcohol or caffeine 24 hours before having your procedure done.
  • Avoid anticoagulant, such as ibuprofen, aspirin, niacin, vitamin E, fish oil or vitamins unless absolutely necessary within 72 hours before having your microblading done.
  • Do not get intentional tanning two weeks before having your microblading.
  • If you are doing Botox and fillers this should be done 2 weeks before or after the procedure.  Botox will change the elevation of your forehead while the fillers change the skin around your eyebrow.
  • If you are doing  facial treatments or chemical peels, this should be done 4 weeks before your procedure.
  • Do not wax or tint for 2 weeks before your treatment.
  • Avoid booking for microblading during your menstrual cycle because it will increase pain.
  • Make sure your skin is free of all irritations, including ingrown hairs, spots, eczema, and psoriasis.

  • Do not take Acutance within one year of treatment

  • Do not touch the eyebrows or the surrounding area for 24 hours
  • Make sure you allow the eyebrows to air dry before you apply a thin layer of the ointment
  • DO NOT rub, pick or scratch the treated area. Allow any crusts or dry skin naturally tint. Note: picking can lead to scarring and pigment loss.
  • Avoid exposure to the sun, solarium, pool (chlorine is irritating), sauna, steam baths, hot showers and/or hot baths for 3 weeks.
  • Avoid physical exertion, fitness room and any other activity that can cause excessive sweating for at least 5 and up to 14 days.
  • Avoid sleeping on your face for the first 10 days.
  • NO makeup or skin care products should be used on the treated area for two weeks.
  • NO Botox around the forehead area for two weeks afterward.
  • Eyebrow tinting should not be performed for 2 weeks after your microblading treatment

NOTE: Immediately after your procedure is done, some areas will appear to be darker and bolder in color this can take up to 10 days after the treatment. The treated area can feel a little bit of sunburn after the process, but the discomfort should be minimal. The initial healing period is minimal flaking and scabbing of the skin. If there is some scabbing or peeling, do not pick at it, just let the scab or dry skin come off on its own.

The complete microblading healing process takes about 6-8 weeks, by this time the true color of the tattoo is surfacing. During this process, your tattoo will soften and lighten. Try and be patient, this happens because your skin is still regenerated and naturally exfoliating. Within 6 weeks you should be able to see the true color, as it will take new strength. You can only get your touch-up/adjustment done after 6-8 weeks.

What can you expect after the eyebrow microblading treatment? 1

Microblading Healing Process

Microblading after care instructions are to be followed in order to achieve longer lasting results.  As a client you will need to avoid any cosmetics on the procedure area such as moisturizers, cleansers, make up.   Following these instructions will allow the eyebrows to naturally heal further allowing the practitioner to see how well the skin holds the pigment.

The eyebrows will go through different stages of the healing process so it is advised that potential clients do their research before doing the microblading procedure. First  your eyebrows will go thru varies tones but this is normal since the pigment color is still settling into the skin. In some cases, few clients notice a few patchy areas or pigment color fading but color settles after 10 days. Do not try to prevent this process as it is part of the healing and avoid picking at the eyebrows even though it will be a little itchy.

It would be ideal if you wash your face precisely around the eyebrow without getting water in the treated region. When using the shower, keep your face far from the shower head. If you have water, sebum, or sweat contact with the wound, it will make it expand and this will lead to scab showing. This scab is typically bothersome and ought not to be peeled. If you scratch or peel off at the range where the scab happens, it can cause scarring and damage the area of pigment. If you are the type that has a sensitive skin, the following day of treatment, the area around the strokes can turn red just because the skin was bothered. This will come back to normal following a couple days. Strokes will seem darker in the following couple of days after treatment and will lighten up around 40% lighter again after peeling.

It is important to follow the after care instructions for the microblading procedure because it will help your eyebrows heal faster. Also based on client experience it has been noted that those who follow the pre care and after care instructions tend to have longer lasting results.

The following should be abstained from during all the 14 days post microblading procedure:

  1. Minimal excercise
  2. Avoid swimming pools
  3. Avoid  jacuzzi and hot sauna
  4. Avoid sun and salon tanning
  5. Using UV/UVA Rays or chemicals will cause shifts in color and premature fading so try to avoid that.
  6. Any laser or medications containing Retin-An or Glycolic acid on the face or neck should also be avoided
  7. Do not pick, peel, or scratch off the micro-pigmented region in order to abstain from scarring or removal of the pigment
  8. Reduce alcohol intake because it can only to slow healing
  9. Avoid touching the eyebrow area

Are there any effective alternatives for eyebrow Microblading?

From the recent studies, it has been identified that eyebrow microblading is one of the most popular techniques among women who prefer to get a perfect look for their eyebrows. But is it the best option available for them?

Many different methods are available for the women to enhance the way their eyebrows look. However, nobody can say that eyebrow microblading is the best and the most effective method out of them. Therefore, it is important for you to have a clear understanding about eyebrow microblading and the alternatives to it, so that you can go for the best possible option.

First of all, you should learn what eyebrow microblading is. This is the process of applying a semi-permanent makeup on your eyebrows. The microblading process is done manually by a qualified and a reputed practitioner. During the procedure, pigment is inserted into the upper layers of your skin. This can deliver fine hair like strokes to define the shape, fill in gaps and cover over plucked eyebrows. The entire microblading process is done through a manual blade. As a result, the strokes are crisp and sharp.  In fact, the hair strokes look so natural that no one would be able to tell whether you have gone through the treatment

Eyebrow microblading is considered as semi-permanent makeup. That’s mainly because the procedure is associated with implanting pigments into the epidermis with the assistance of a fine needle. The process is somewhat similar to getting a tattoo. However, this is less painful. The ink used for eyebrow microblading is a mineral based one. Therefore, the results you would get are not permanent.

Now let’s explore the alternatives that are available for eyebrow microblading. One of the alternatives available for microblading is HD brows. Plain old brow stenciling and brow extensions have also become popular among people who live out there in the world.

HD brows can simply be defined as a method that is associated with shaping, tinting, waxing and preening your eyebrows. Results delivered by HD brows are impressive. However, you will need to get it done at least once a month.

If you have thinning brows, you can go for brow extensions. They can extend and fill the gaps in your eyebrows. The results delivered by this procedure can also last for several weeks. Brow stenciling is something that you can do at the comfort of your own home, but you will have to spend at least 10 minutes per day to get it done.

Eyebrow microblading has become so popular because it’s a technique that takes two sessions but results last longer than HD brows, brow extensions and brow stenciling.
